Urgent Prayer Request

This was sent in by one of our readers”

This is an urgent prayer request that was sent to me from Jews For Jesus. I have verified the information through sources. Please continue to pray for this situation until you hear that it has been stopped. I remember praying for ISIS from a post a few days ago.

please pass the
following URGENT prayer request along to everyone you can think of. This
is urgent news from Samaritans Purse. This was sent to me for prayer from
Chaplains with Rapid Response Team. Pray & pass to others.

Dear Friends,

Just a few minutes ago I received the following text message on my phone
from Sean Malone who leads Crisis Relief International (CRI). We then
spoke briefly on the phone and I assured him that we would share this
urgent prayer need with all of our contacts. “We lost the city of
Queragosh (Qaraqosh). It fell to ISIS and they are beheading children
systematically. This is the city we have been smuggling food to. ISIS has
pushed back Peshmerga (Kurdish forces) and is within 10 minutes of where
our CRI team is working. Thousands more fled into the city of Erbil last
night. The UN evacuated it’s staff in Erbil. Our team is unmoved and will
stay. Prayer cover needed!” Please pray sincerely for the deliverance of
the people of Northern Iraq from the terrible advancement of ISIS and its
extreme Islamic goals for mass conversion or death for Christians across
this region. May I plead with you not to ignore this email. Do not
forward it before you have prayed through it. Then send it to as many
people as possible. Send it to friends and Christians you may know. Send
it to your prayer group. We need to stand in the gap for our fellow
Christians.

God be with all of our fellow Christians as they face persecution and even death. Let them know that their work is needed where they are and that You will use them even though it may not seem so right now. Please use these times to help all of us remember You and Your faithfulness in all adversity. Comfort those who suffer – give hope to those who have lost it – strengthen them spiritually and physically. Amen!

Believers in Christ have been being martyred since Christ resurrected. We also knew eventually this reality would become stronger as we wait for Christ’s return. Yet it still very saddening! Please join me in praying for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are being killed, as well as the children being needlessly beheaded in Iraq.

Not to be a naysayer, because we should be in constant prayer and not in panic for the crisis in Iraq, but I found this information on another site…notice the date…just for the sake of awareness and accuracy, not to downplay the urgency in the message, but I just think as fellow Christians we should be on spiritual alert constantly for those of the body of Christ.

August 8: “We lost the city of Queragosh (Qaraqosh). It fell to ISIS, and they are beheading children systematically. This is the city we have been smuggling food to. August 10: “Hundreds of thousands of people have fled their homes as ISIS has been advancing across Iraq. Many of these people have arrived in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq. Last fall, refugees from Syria were granted access into many of these same areas of Kurdistan. We are working with longtime partners to provide essential items for internally displaced people. To date, our response has included distributions of tents, mattresses, and baby cribs, as well as food distributions that have served more than 14,000 people. Over the weekend, we coordinated an outreach event and saw dozens of people respond in faith to the Gospel. Our plan is to continue supporting these church partners as they accommodate more and more internally displaced people. We are carefully monitoring the situation, and we stand ready to increase our involvement if the need should arise.”

1 Peter 3:14 “But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”
I am thankful that this site and others like it. It’s a place where believers can come together as the body of Christ to pray for one another, encourage one another and give glory to the Father in heaven.
Protect us my Lord and those fellow believers around the world that for the sake of the Cross endure various afflictions that You might glory.
Romans 8:18 – For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time not worthy [to be compared] with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
For Your word tells and the Spirit confirms that..
1 Peter 1:7 – That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
that thought we walk in through the valley of death…
Psalms 23:4 – Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
we encourage one another in the faith…
Acts 14:22 – Confirming the souls of the disciples, [and] exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

To You be all the glory. Amen

    • I wasn’t trying to put people in a panic to pray for this situation, and I too saw these posts when checking out the situation. Samaritans Purse just sent this to Jews For Jesus and they sent it out to all of their missionaries. There are certainly tragic events happening all over the planet for which we should be in constant prayer. I only 5 minutes ago saw a small piece on national news that ISIS just released a member of the Turkish government. I heard that there are 50,000 of them in that one place in Iraq. They have not been contained. May we continue in prayer for these situations.

I know the post was not meant to spread panic, Levi. Many apologies. Gosh this mess seems to have no end, and you are correct there is to much going on in this planet that we should be in constant prayer. I just ask God..”What’s going on my Lord? This world is going crazy! I was talking to a pastor friend about all these happening with ISIS and asked him if we, believers, should be worried. He told me no, no we shouldn’t, but we should be in prayer. It’s hard to wrap your head around all the reports coming out of the middle east and I can imagine many of those reports are designed to breed fear in the heart of Americans. They don’t like us.

  13. We must be in constant prayer because at some point, and I don’t know when, most believers world-wide will be persecuted. I’m not saying ISIS style, but maybe. We are told in Scripture to expect this. As Americans we always think its always over somewhere else. That may change soon. This is not to worry us, but we must be built up in the faith.
