Today’s prayer discussion

The gay agenda is a very controversial subject. There are churches on both sides of the issue. We believe the Bible is very clear on it. Gays must be delivered from this sin, and only God through Jesus can do it. In God’s view gays can be delivered and set free as with any other sin. What are your thoughts on this prayer, and tell us of any difficulties you may have encountered praying for them.

Don’t forget that over the weekends we will not have a specific prayer posted unless the Lord leads us to do so. If you have any prayer at ANY time please tell us on our Prayer Page at the top and you will be prayed for.

Galatians 6:2 says, “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Let’s live this out.

  1. Not a problem praying for them. Shoot, if I can be led to pray for ISIS I can certainly pray for this sinful lifestyle. 🙂 Have a great week-end everyone.

Jesus preaches love above all else. We love like Jesus loves and that’s how we show who God is. Is is not our job to condemn or judge. It is our job to love. As Christians we need to remember that. Nobody ever found Jesus by being preached at. Prayer is also a vital part of this process. Jesus reached out to every sinner, He did not discriminate based on sin. We fill ourselves with truth and love. We were all once sinners in need of a savior.

  4. When we write of a “gay agenda” or a “gay lifestyle,” we already dehumanize and judge a large group of people who may or may not be committing acts of sin. We need to love individuals into the kingdom, form relationships with individuals, and offer compassion, mercy and grace as our Savior did for us.

Pray that all would be filled with a desire to please Him first, accept His grace and forgiveness as we did, and surrender to the Holy Spirit’s leading.

Great responses. I would like to add that in human societies we like to dehumanize, and criminalize things we don’t understand, or that make us uncomfortable. And we like to idolize and sexualize, secularize those things that satisfy the flesh. Praise God that John 3:16 tells us …”For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.”

This scripture is quite clear as to why some people remain in darkness.

God will forgive all who repent and believe. God is far from done with us, after we accept Him. The real hard work comes after we are saved. That’s when we learn that what comes out of us is what defiles us. Jesus said in Matthew 5:27-28 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. The man has already committed sin in his heart. God is concerned with the condition of our heart. He is concerned with what comes out of our mouth for from the tongue comes both evil and good. Matthew 15:11 “Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”James 3:10 “Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.”

From within these temples that we often worship to perfection, out of the heart, comes evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. Mark 7:20-23 “And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified (Sanctification is the act or process of acquiring sanctity, of being made or becoming holy), but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”

Now regarding homosexuality Paul said in Romans 1:25-27 “who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.”

“For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.”

Now, if God can take Nebuchadnezzar who boasted of his greatness before God, (after all that God had done for him), strip him of his mental faculties to where he lives like an animal, and if we must be sanctified to become more Christ like.. then does it not make sense that before we can totally surrender to God, the Lord might have to work a great deal in us…to present a perfect bride?

I have just as many friends that are Christians as I do friends that live lifestyles that do not align with the Word of God. And mind you, many of those friends are Christians. I too struggled with fleshly desires, and when the Lord started working in me…it was not pleasant, but the Lord brought me to the place where He is….and that’s the only place I want to be. I am confident that every believer that lives a surrendered life has plenty of stories of grace abounding.

So, as the Spirit prompts I pray for these friends that the Lord remove the scales from their eyes. God wants for all of us to become more Christ like. Paul said in Romans 6, should we sin that grace may abound? God forbid. The Lord wants our heart, and many of us will have our heart broken before we willingly surrender our will for the perfect will of the living God. It has to happen. I watched a once godly woman, after divorce, throw herself at every man that fit her image of the perfect man. She went in search for the perfect husband. She took them all for a test drive. And still she faithfully attended church, bible study and went wherever the Lord led her, but she had this little secret that she kept and she made me keep. It’s not a courageous thing we do to follow Jesus..it is a willingness to lay down our life, to lay down our desires (It is an unconditional surrender) for the life of the One that gave His life so that we might live.

Any person that proclaims to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and lives a lifestyle contrary to the word of God, needs prayer for God to work in his heart. Not judgment, or condemnation, because if the person is not a true believer…the Word tells us he is already condemned.

Humanity’s moral compass is failing, but Jesus said all sins would be forgiven, but one, Mark 3:28-29 “Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation.”

Rich Mullins put it like this…“Christianity is not about building an absolutely secure little niche in the world where you can live with your perfect little wife and your perfect little children in your beautiful little house where you have no gays or minority groups anywhere near you. Christianity is about learning to love like Jesus loved and Jesus loved the poor and Jesus loved the broken.”
    ― Rich Mullins

Even if we don’t know how to pray for individuals caught up in lifestyles contrary to the Word, the Holy Spirit can help us. Romans 8:26.

Clay Crosse sang this song a while back. These days, you don’t hear lyrics like this to much. I Surrender All.

  6. ImMa …Your Post was beautifully said because it is Backed not only by the Word of God but the Spirit of Love!! …… 🙂 🙂 🙂 When I came to the Lord I did not surrender all that was opposed to Gods Word it was a Process for me.. It was only as I walked in the Light of his Love and direction that I started to Loose the desires that were not in Gods plan for my New life..Thank God I was surrounded with Christians who understood that… Its really a simple principle of life.. Sometimes things are removed quickly sometimes Slowly but who I am meant to be in Christ will ALWAYS Materialize as I work his word out in my Daily Walk!! I Love that about God He understands and LOVES US Every Step of the way!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Karen, God will show us wondrous things when we surrender our will, when we seek Him with a whole heart and seek Him in His word. Once you get to the place where God is everything…you never want to leave. As you have experienced, salvation is only the beginning. God is relentless when He pursues His chosen. Praise God that you have been set apart, that the living God knows you by name and calls you by your name. Ezekiel 11:19 “Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God. But as for those whose hearts follow the desire for their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their deeds on their own heads,” says the Lord God.”
      Be Blessed.
