Today We Would Like To Pray For Wisdom, Understanding, and Knowlege

We have been impressed today to pray for wisdom, understanding, and knowledge on the part of our President, and leaders of our country. Solomon told us “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding” (Prov.4:7).  Wisdom is the principal thing that we as believers should seek. James tells us how we may obtain wisdom: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5).

Our theme verse highlights wisdom, and understanding as two vital ingredients needed for building a successful life. Solomon goes even further with this thought; “Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches” (Proverbs 24:3-4).

He says with wisdom, a “house” is built; that house could be likened to our life, family, or country. He goes further to say that the “house,” once built, is established by understanding; and then by knowledge, you bring riches into it. Our great country was founded by men who sought from God wisdom and understanding and knowledge. For many years now, the leaders of our land have made decisions not based upon  the Bible, but upon human worldly wisdom. Without a return to a biblical world-view we are doomed.

Thirteen years ago on this date our country suffered a tremendous blow by Al-Quaeda. Today, terrorists are spotted all over the globe causing murder, rape, pillage, and unspeakable evil. Anti-Semitism is gaining strength in many countries of the world. We must pray for ALL of the leaders of our country, and its allies, that they will seek wisdom from God and gain understanding on how to deal adequately and biblically with these terrorists. Jesus is the only answer, and only in Him can true wisdom be found, because Jesus is Wisdom.

We must pray that another 911 doesn’t happen again anywhere, and put an end to any type of anti-Semitism that is gaining strength.

Gracious Father, we pray in Jesus name that you will work within the hearts of our government leaders to seek wisdom from You. It’s evident that after all of these years they must realize that their past plans have failed, because You have not been included in them. Lord, break their hearts for the millions of people living in fear because of these terrorists, and grant them wisdom from above to put policy in place to deal with them Your way. May bigotry and regionalism and anti-Semitism not be tolerated. Father, protect us from another event like 911. Call your people back to Yourself and cause a great revival to occur in this country. We pray this all in Jesus precious name. Amen!
