Pray for Ray and Janay Rice

By now, everyone has read the story of Ray and Janay Rice. It’s a sad story any way you look at it, but it has opened up the eyes of the world to the issue of domestic violence and the reality that it is. So many times we turn the other cheek when we  hear about spousal abuse. We are scared to help, we are scared to intervene. After watching the gruesome video, the holy spirit stirred inside this computer screen just waiting to come out. Something has to be done. Something must be done. We must gather our prayer warriors. So today we are praying for both Ray and Janay Rice. We make intercession for them and on their behalf in the holy and mighty name of Jesus.

Dear heavenly father,

We know you detest broken families. We know our men are called to be the spiritual leaders of our households. They are called to love their wives as Christ loves his church. Today we come before you and pray in the mighty name of Jesus that Ray Rice would repent of his sin before God, ask forgiveness and let Jesus into his heart. Lord we pray for his salvation and we pray that you speak truth and life into his life. We pray that you permeate every inch of his being- mind, body and soul. We pray that he speaks boldly against domestic violence to others and that you would work all things together for good to shed light on this horrific issue. Lord we know that nothing is wasted in your economy. We take this opportunity to pray for any man or woman who is an abuser. We pray that you break them out of bondage in Jesus name. We pray against the epidemic that is domestic violence. We pray that those who are abusers come forward and seek you Lord, repent and accept you as Lord and savior. We pray that every abuser is convicted in their heart by watching Ray Rice’s story and seek help for their affliction.

For Janay Lord we pray healing. We pray that if she hasn’t already that she accepts you as Lord and savior. That she presses into you for comfort, guidance and support in your loving arms. We pray you give her wisdom in this matter to make the decisions you would have her make Lord for her family. We pray she fears you and you alone Lord and not man. And we pray that you heal this family in the mighty name of Jesus. 

We also pray for any man or woman who is a victim of domestic violence. We pray that every single one turns to you. We pray that they seek your face and guiding comfort. We pray for their salvation and their blessed assurance in you. We pray for godly wisdom and protection for them. And we pray Father that you would give them the supernatural strength to run for help in the midst of their chaos.

Father if there is anyone reading this prayer that specifically needs to be prayed over, we pray that the holy spirit moves and they are led to ask for specific prayer. Thank you for your faithfulness father, for your mercy, for your love and grace and for abounding in us each and every day. Holy are you oh Lord the most high.
